KING Toronto
Toronto, Canada
2018
Mixed-Use
880,950sf
KING Toronto is a large scale mixed use project that occupies an entire city block at the intersection of the skyscrapers of downtown Toronto and the low-rise residential neighborhoods of King West. The building is arranged around a central mid-block courtyard that serves as a connector and negotiates existing heritage buildings that needed to be preserved. Instead of the conventional tower + podium model, KING proposes a new type of human centered architecture: A building shaped like a mountain to provide outdoor terraces for all apartments, unexpected view corridors and let light and air reach deep into the courtyard.

S.Pellegrino Flagship Factory
San Pellegrino Terme, Italy
2016
Industrial
400,000 sf
The design for the new S.Pellegrino Flagship Factory is inspired by the production process of the world famous sparkling water, which makes its way through the rocks of the alps in a 30-year journey before emerging, enriched with minerals at the source in the Brembo Valley, an hour North of Bergamo, Italy. A functional grid of concrete walls with arched cutouts creates a sculptural and organic appearance, marrying influences of the inviting Italian arcades and the restrained alpine architecture.
